The video for this is incredibly fitting to the music. It would be interesting to hear from Eddie Wickline to find out about his inspiration for the video and why he chose the style he did. This combination of music and video is almost trance-like, and communicates a pretty indescribable feeling. Maybe the Chrome Wings and Eddie Wickline could describe this feeling.
Hi, this is Eddie, thanks for your kind words! This is my very first video project, and I was simply trying out new things, and learning how to use the software. Jon and I have been good friends for about 8 years, so I was really excited to be able to contribute to his project, having seen it really become amazing in the last few years. Jon and I had a job together recently and when he told me about the track, and it's title, I knew that the grey winters that we have here in Portland were probably getting to him like they do for me, so I tried to make that the theme, wanting winter to be over already, and dreaming of summer time.
For a first time with a video project and learning how to use the software, it's an impressive result. Now that you explained the theme you were going for, it's apparent that you hit the mark. The way I see it is that the viewer is getting glimpses of Summer, but can never hold on tight to any stable Summer scene, which maybe makes you realize that you're just dreaming. It gives you a feeling very similar to the feeling you get during a long and dreary Winter. It's pretty dreary, grey and wintery here in Rochester, NY too. Thank you for the response.
Yes, exactly, the "character" kinda falls asleep watching tv in the b/w wintery world, and dreams of good times in summer, and then he wakes back up in the b/w winter world.
very cool, music and video balance each other very well. i love videos in this vein: swirls of images and color, creating it's own ambience.
